5'9" X 4'8" Early 19th Century Ersari Ensi Rug [SH-089]

An early Ersari Ensi rug. Circa 1800, this rug shows a walnut brown ground with 5 X 5 candelabra rows separated by a cherry red rams horn bar in 5 compartments. A rare Mother Goddess design is found in the main border. Chocolate elam panel shows Ersari 3-leaf clover crosses, bordered by a rams horn row. With 7 colors, this classic piece was given a museum quality hand wash before being preserved from light and wear in our gallery's Turkoman room.
