Collector's Notes
This antique Caucasian Avar rug was woven in the late 19th Century and features a unique field design with alternating colored shield-like bird medallions floating on a saturated indigo blue background. All surrounded by three borders including a pinwheel main border. Great accenting floor rug or hanging wall art.
