Antique Ersari Main Carpet. Late 19th Century. The field is arranged with a 3X7 row format of Gulli Gols that vary in size. Of special note is the three shades of abrash achieved by the weaver utilizing different dyed batches of wool. The reds all derived from madder. Please note the ‘badam’ gul upper almond blossom minor border abrash. Original wide brown selvages and remnants of kilim ends frame out a very fine example of a tribal weaving. Great condition considering age. 5 colors. 6’1 X 8’5. Delicately hand washed.
