Collector's Notes
This antique Shirvan kilim was woven in the last quarter of the 19th Century combines bold use of saturated colors and repeat geometry design. It displays rows of bird latchook diamonds alongside ten triangular stepped elements. Each section is bordered with alternating narrower bands of triangles and cross filled geometric diamonds. Ivory was expertly used against bold and rich tones of blue, reds and mellowed green to create a sense of depth and contrast to the viewer. Gorgeous floor rug or large wall hanging art.
