    Collector's Notes

    Antique Caucasian Seychour rug. This rug was woven in the second half of the 19th Century featuring a classic design with cabbage heads floating on a dark brown almost black field with an attractive floral meander border accentuating the overall field design. Highly collectible, rare piece.

    Seychour rugs are a sub type of Kuba and were woven in the early to mid 19th Century in small villages in the Caucasus. These rugs are known for their detailed designs and saturated colors.

    Condition: Excellent condition with close to full wool pile. Ends have original macrame fringe. Fully secured sides and ends.
