Collector's Notes
This antique Konya kilim flatwoven rug was woven in the early 19th Century. It is a monumental, early ivory ground field exhibiting bold drawings and saturated vegetable colors. In the heart of the kilim, stand four stacked medallions composed of nested hexagons outlined with classic Turkish latch-hook motifs. Indigo framed and flanked by extending hooks or zoomorphic bird’s heads. A truly collectible and tribal piece. Great floor rug or large wall hanging art.
