This antique Ersari main carpet was woven in the late 19th century and features a 3X7 gul arrangement format of Gulli Gols that vary in size. Of special note are the three shades of abrash achieved by the weaver utilizing different dyed batches of wool. The reds are all naturally derived from the madder plant. Original wide brown selvages and remnants of kilim ends frame out a very fine example of tribal weaving. Great floor rug for defining larger spaces.
