Antique Persian Bakthiari Bag Square Rug 1'8 x 1'9

Collector's Notes

This antique Bakthiari small square rug was originally woven in the early 20th Century in Southwest Persia. Its original purpose was utilitarian being used as a bag to transport salt and other items. A central bird tree totem is on an ivory background featuring an opposing bird head border. Great accenting wall hanging piece.
