• 5'3" X 2'9" Antique 19th Century Timuri Rug [SH-147]

    Timuri, Sangtshuli. 3rd Quarter 19th Century. Circa 1860, Khorasan. This is an early collector's rug. The main border consists of alternating triangles of tulip-like three-stemmed plants. Bright white medakahyl (medical) minor border frame copper and indigo hexagons. Copper half gols and dragon element to a fluid field. Excellent condition considering age. No repairs. Original four sides. With a 3 cord goat hair selvedge, 5 colors, and all original striped kilim ends, this piece was given a museum quality hand washed.
