Collector's Notes
This antique Afshar square rug was woven in the first quarter of the 20th Century in South Persia. This small Chanteh (tribal bag) is all original, and the flat-woven chevron kilim back is fully intact, a rare find. It features an array of saturated colors, including a madder red and ivory center and a dark-blue background. An intricate weave at the least with a great meandering flower border. Collector's piece. Great wall hanging or accenting room piece.
