Antique Qashqai Carpet [SH-364]

Ivory diagonal rows of octagons with centers of 8 hooked birds heads. Stars of 4.5" points twinkle randomly amongst gols. Rows that radiate in all 4 directions. The two minor border strips and main border are interesting in the various directions. They flow and tree shaped branches. 

Zoom in to study this tribal masterwork of the Qashqai tribe of south Persia. Contains over 70 octagonal gols in 10 natural colors of tremendous depth of early Qashqai work. Woven in the 2nd half 19 century. Hand washed and in very good original condition. 

As expected wed find no comparable carpet of this tribe.
