This Antique Anatolian Yastik small rug was woven in the late 19th Century and features two sets of alternating colored curvilinear bird head panels. Note: 'Yastik' translates to pillow in Turkish. This small graphic piled panel was originally woven with a flatwoven back and was originally filled with wool or goods that served a utilitarian purpose. Like the vast majority of older examples of Yastiks still in existence, only the front piled panel remains. Great small floor rug or wall hanging art.
