Collector's Notes

This antique Kurdish Juval (bagface) rug was woven in the late 19th Century with a 'Jaf/Jaff' style weave. The top panel of the rug encloses diagonal rows of quatrefoil rosettes. There are several tribal animals woven in the field. Very soft and lustrous wool with a floppy handle.
