Ersari Main Carpet. Large octagonal tribal gols on rare purple ground is indicative. It was woven in Amu Darya region Turkmenistan. Its small size nomadic furnishing of yurt. The colors of turquoise, deep green, a brilliant light blue and a substantial amount of ivory wool in the main border are all early indicators, as are the pair of single border strips. Very good condition. Hand-washed, no later than early 19th century.
