Antique, rare Afshar long rug. Finely woven cane design between rows of indigo and blue lines. There is ivory wool and purple ground fuchsine. The last dye color was introduced in 1860. Over time, it fades to a mauve. Other colors found are green, yellow, electric blue, and natural brown. A border section of pinkish/red madder.

A glowing trefoil border is glacier blue on four sides. Partial original flat woven kilim ends. Barber pole selvedge edge wrap. Eight colors. Original condition.
